I watched the first episode Friday night before going to bed, and loved it so much I stayed up and watched all the available episodes.
So first impressions: why does Ei-chan have a crest on his head? He is such a perfectionist in other matters, it seems strange he hasn't made any attempt to tame his hair. While I've seen plenty of examples of antenna hair in anime, this has to be the first time I've seen cockerel hair.
That aside, I really like the individuality of the character designs here. The tennis is well animated as well, and enjoyable to watch even for a non-player like me.
Ei-chan's character has been well drawn by this stage, and we've begun to see some development. While there have been hints that more is there, at present the main supporting cast (Nat-chan, Kageyama and Takuma) remain sketches.
Either way this is a really engaging series and I will definitely continue watching this weekly.
